Virtual Talk: Andrew Schlessinger. The Present and Future of EdTech and Digital Learning.
8 December, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Andrew Schlessinger is an educational media pioneer. He founded three K-12 companies; SAFARI Montage, Schlessinger Media and Library Video Company.
He has produced over 800 highly-acclaimed Schlessinger Media K-12 core curricular video programs and led the merger of SAFARI Technologies with his own Library Video Company in 2005, forming the first fully interoperable Learning Object Repository (LOR) in the U.S. K-12 market. That innovative solution, SAFARI Montage (www.SAFARIMontage.com) combines in one place over 15,000 of the leading educational broadcasters’ and producer’s video programs with school district procured, created and curated free digital resources.
The pandemic really hit the K-12 (and universities) and forced all the students to learn from home. Andrew has founded his company decades prior to the shift and with the acceleration of digital learning the time has come. We’re going to chat with him about being a visionary in the world of developing digital curriculums and what the future holds for the academia sphere.
SAFARI Montage is used by the several of the largest school districts in the U.S., such as Chicago Public Schools, as well as a statewide implementation in South Carolina. The platform is IMS conformance certified in multiple technical standards as well as aligning all content to all 50 state curriculum standards. SAFARI Montage is available using on-prem servers or cloud-hosted solutions.
